Good practices worth developing in Podkarpacie Region
The main goal of transnational project is to implement partner's good practice, innovative approach or method in social service for people with mental health problems. There are some ideas worth taking into consideration.
Background- users empowerment, family and carers support, multi-disciplinary team work and networking.
1. Psycho-social rehabilitation in self-help groups
There are about 25 community centers of mutual-help (CCOMH) - day units with occupational therapy, basic living and social skills training and leisure time activities. Approximately there are about 10 % of people with mental health problems in mixed groups with learrning difficulties. Diffirentiated programme is not available.
2. Supportive accommodation
In Podkarpacie Region a supportive accommodation is not available for people with mental health problems. There are only residential institutions.
3. Social inclusion programme
Good practice: supported living, nova project, borders youth project (PENUMBRA), welcome service, communication rehabilitation, individual assistance and guidance (ALL)
4. Occupational training and employment
Good practice: plan 2 change (PENUMBRA), labor assessment servic, pre-laboral network services, training and qualification, special employment centre, ŠENTPRIMA -employment consultancy centre, social firms (SENT) and so on.
Comment: there is no specific labor assessment service for people with mental health problems in Podkarpacie Region, no social firms suitable for people with mental illness, no employment assistance. Association of Families "Open Mind" puts a lot of efforts to run trainings in cumputing, learning languages and other skills.
